Winter Webinar: The Perimenopausal Brain at Work

Event Details

Event Information

While public conversation around perimenopause tends to focus narrowly on physical symptoms, many women describe the cognitive, emotional and relational changes as the most disruptive: brain fog, word loss, emotional intensity, reduced tolerance, shifting boundaries and a sense of no longer feeling like themselves. For women leading businesses, teams and households, these changes can feel particularly confronting in environments where sharp thinking, emotional steadiness and capability are highly valued. Drawing on neuroscience, positive psychology and behavioural science, this session explores what is happening in the perimenopausal brain, why periods of transition often become “noisy” before they settle, and how women can learn to work with their brain rather than against it. The session holds two truths at once: perimenopause can be genuinely difficult, and it can also become a period of greater clarity, discernment, self-trust and growth.

Participants will leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of the perimenopausal brain and why cognitive and emotional changes occur
  • Language to make sense of their experience with greater self-compassion rather than self-criticism
  • Insight into how these shifts can affect leadership, relationships, teams and workplace dynamics
  • Practical ways to work with their brain rather than against it during periods of high cognitive and emotional load
  • A greater sense of clarity, agency and connection in what they are navigating

This session will be delivered by Nicole Border and Berni Cooper, the co-founders of Fluxx, a psychology-led Brisbane-based business that creates practical tools to help people meet change with greater clarity and confidence. They design bite-sized, evidence-based online bootcamps for busy people and modern teams, as well as offering coaching and consulting. At Fluxx, their goal is to demystify mental wellbeing and translate psychological research into tools that feel relevant, usable and genuinely helpful.
